East Woodhay Parish Plan Steering Group

Minutes of meeting held at East Woodhay Village Hall on Wednesday 14th February 2007

 

 

Present: John Angle (Chairperson), Miles Atherton, Peter Brunsden, Rosemary Cahill, Brian Count (Treasurer), Paul Hetherton, Paul Jacobs, Alan Johnson, Mike Robinson & Jenny Veasey

Apologies: Julia Calvert, Paul Hancock, Roger Sharpe & Jo Teece

 

1.     All members present introduced themselves.

 

2.     John Angle agreed to be chair and was proposed by Brian Count and seconded by Peter Brunsden with unanimous support from all attendees.

 

3.     Brian Count agreed to be treasurer and was proposed by Alan Johnson and seconded by Mike Robinson with unanimous support from all attendees.

 

4.     No one volunteered to be secretary and no other officers were proposed. All members present agreed to join the steering group bar Miles Atherton due to his work commitments.

 

5.     All attendees agreed to the East Woodhay parish plan steering group constitution. Copy attached.

 

6.     Action Brian Count agreed to check with the Parish Council and then set up our own bank account with the same branch as the Parish Council, subject to it being available on-line.

 

7.     Four focus groups were proposed under the headings of

a.      Transport

b.     Environment

c.     Recreation

d.     Community Services

 

8.     Members of the steering group volunteered to join the focus groups as follows:-

a.      Transport – Alan Johnson together with Miles Atherton

b.     Environment – Brian Count, Paul Hetherton & Mike Robinson

c.     Recreation – Peter Brunsden & Paul Jacobs

d.     Community Services - Rosemary Cahill & Jenny Veasey

 

Action Jenny Veasey will liaise with the local schools and look at creating a youth working group to work within a focus group.   

 

Action Jenny Veasey and Rosemary Cahill will produce a leaflet inviting people to participate in focus groups and the parish plan, which is to be inserted in the March/ April issue of Spectrum.

 

Action John Angle will distribute a list of names, Email addresses and home telephone numbers to all members.

 

9.     Action John Angle will approach the Greenham Common Trust to request their help with compiling the questionnaire, analysing the results and producing the final report.

 

Action John Angle will approach Community Action Hampshire for a grant.

 

10. The East Woodhay website to be used to publish all minutes and other documents.

 

Action Alan Johnson will follow up.

 

11. The detailed timetable for production of the plan will be issued later. The steering group decided that we should allow 18 months from the start date, provisionally set for March 2006, for the plan to be completed.

 

12. It was agreed that the chair should approve all information for distribution to newspapers and other external parties.

 

13. There was no AOB.

 

14. For the rest of 2007 all meetings be on the 2nd Wednesday of each month bar August when it will be on the 3rd Wednesday. All meetings to start at 19.30 and for the time being will be held in the East Woodhay Village Hall in the small room at the back.
